The School of
Visual Communication offers a thirty-two-day summer field school
centered in Edinburgh, Scotland. Participants earn twelve semester hours of
university credit (graduate or undergraduate) in photography, visual
communication and documentary photojournalism.
This intense
practical education program offers hands-on work in documentary
photography, the picture story and the tools of color photojournalism.
You gain the opportunity to work as a visual reporter in a study-abroad
field school format. Supervised field work offers excellent training
for photographers looking to improve their photo-essay skills. A 10:1
student-faculty ratio offers exceptional feedback and photographic
critique blending academic education with practical photojournalism
experience.
