- Q: Why do I need two camera bodies?
- A: If one body breaks, you will not lose days or weeks in the field.
Q: Will I have personal travel time in Scotland?
A:
Although you are working everyday on assignments for your course work,
you are encouraged to take assignments which allow you to travel
country wide.
Q: Are we there during the Edinburgh Arts Festival?
A: Yes. There are over 500 plays, gallery shows and events at the festival.
- Q: Do I need to bring bed linen and towels?
- A:
Bed linens and towels are supplied weekly. If you plan to use the
college's small indoor pool, (or you like big fluffy towels) we
recommend you bring an additional towel.
Q: Will I be able to shop for food near the college?
A:
Yes, in the village of Corstophine (about five blocks down the hill),
are shops that stay open until 11 pm. A Safeway store, larger than the
Athens Krogers is a half-hour bus ride away.
- Q: What are the behavior rules?
- A:
You are bound by Ohio University's code of conduct. If your actions
would be illegal on the Athens Campus, they are illegal at the workshop.
Q: Can I use a credit card in Scotland?
A:
You can use Visa, Master Card and American Express in almost any shop
or restaurant, but only in the more expensive B&B's and hotels.

Q: Will I see much of the country?
- A: From North to South, Scotland is only 274 miles and we usually cover it all with our train pass.

Q: What is the weather like in the summer?
- A:
Changeable, windy and it will rain almost daily. The highs and lows of
July are 65? to 52?F. You will dress in layers. An umbrella and sweater
is always appropriate. We work everyday, come rain or come sunshine.
Q: What is the population of Scotland?
A: The population of Scotland is 5.1 million. Edinburgh is 400,000, but during the festival it grows to a million.
Q: How hard will it be to find a B&B away from Edinburgh?
A: It is very easy, the National Tourist Information Centers allow you to book-a-ahead from almost every city and village.
