The School of Visual Communication strives to maintain state-of-the-art facilities, including high-end digital input and output devices and up-to-date computer software.

Epson 1640XL Large format flatbed scanner

HP Color LaserJet 8500 large format laser printer
HP 5M B&W printers
HP 4MV 11x17 B&W printers
2 Epson 4800 Photo Color printers

302 and 306 Classrooms:
20" iMacs with digital media readers and zip drives

15 iMac computers for simple editing.

The software used in the labs includes Microsoft Office, Macromedia Flash, inDesign, Adobe CS2 Suite, and Protools.

The Scripps College of Communication Scripps Howard Multimedia Lab contains 32 Macintosh G5 PowerPCs. Each computer is equipped with 256 mb ram, ZipDrives, JazDrives, and color monitors. The software in this lab includes Macromedia Director, Dreamweaver, Flash, Freehand, SoundEdit 16, Premier, Photoshop, AfterEffects, ClarisWorks, Microsoft Office, and Protools.
