In Athens, the fall season brings about certain things
that can be counted on every year. Whether it is new classes, football,
or falling leaves, one constant is the School of Visual Communications
Dawn to Dusk project. Every year the School of Visual Communications
chooses a topic for a photographic documentary and students go out in
search of images that capture the fabric and texture of the community.
On Friday, October 26, the program chose the zip code 45701 as their
topic and 114 photographers went out to shoot it. This is the seventh
Dawn to Dusk documentary by the program, earlier projects encompassed
neighboring towns, Ohio University, and local highways and byways.

In an attempt to find a unique way to study and document the surrounding
area, the staff at the Visual Communications School decided on zip code
45701. We are excited to present to you the images exclusively taken
by the students of Visual Communications. The upcoming pages contain
the images of Athens, Ohio University, and the surrounding townships
and countryside that make up the zip code 45701.
