Judge Michael Ward sits on the bench during a hearing in Athens County Court of Common Pleas (General Court). The Court House is on the Corner of Court and Washington Street. It was built in 1880, the two story building of red brick. In 1935 the building was remodeled and the old "town clock" was transfered to the courthouse steeple from the old city hall building where it had been marking time since 1875.
